Welcome to Pediatrics on Montana. We work at 901 Montana Avenue in Santa Monica and have been here since 1984. In 2004, we expanded our office space and now have enough room for more efficient scheduling and better separation of sick and well children. We provide the highest quality care and personal attention to your children’s and your family’s needs by allowing plenty of time during our check ups. Each checkup is up to an hour in length. This gives us plenty of time to assess your child and provide developmentally appropriate guidance. In addition, there will be ample time for any issues you would like to discuss. Discussions of growth and development, nutrition, safety, and anticipatory guidance enable us to establish our relationship with each family and promote optimal health in each child. Our scheduling means we see far fewer kids in a day than most pediatric offices!
We take our time when your child is sick.
We leave space in our schedule every day to see sick children (although we don’t see that many because we teach you all about great home care!). Our prescriptions may include homeopathic remedies, herbs, natural supplements, and salves as well as antibiotics when needed. Your visit may take 15 minutes or it may take all day; we are prepared to devote as much time as necessary. In order to minimize your waiting time, we schedule sick visits by appointment and we always see you the same day.
Office Hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for well child visits and sick visits. After hours visits, Sunday visits, and House Calls may be arranged on an as-needed basis. Our After Hours philosophy: Our goal is to be available when you need us, so that you never end up in an Emergency Room unless the specific problem is best handled there. We often have after hours access to orthopedists, plastic surgeons, pediatric surgeons and other specialists if the need arises. Our office is intimate. It feels more like a home than a medical facility. We do not have separate spaces for sick and well children, but we minimize their interaction by bringing children to their exam room when they arrive, without spending long periods of time in a large waiting room. If you are arriving with a baby younger than three months call us when you arrive if you’d like, and we’ll have you remain in your car until we have your room ready. The office entrance is on 9th Street across from Roosevelt Elementary School. Parking is available on the street directly outside the office. There are metered spaces as well as free parking spaces for two hours at a time. Please be mindful of the street cleaning hours where you park, as the Santa Monica police do patrol the area frequently.
